Patients in healthcare settings can be particularly vulnerable to infection, which can at best cause complications and at worst be fatal. This is one of the key reasons for the importance of disinfection in healthcare, and this remains the case during every stage of a patient’s healthcare journey. Whether it’s a bed, door handle, or surgical instrument, the possibility for infection must be minimised as much as possible.

GDisinfection methods can vary. Simple methods, like wipes and sprays, are used in a similar way to household cleaning products. There are also more advanced methods, such as thermal disinfection machines, which use accurate temperature sensors to guarantee disinfection, and robotic disinfection systems that circulate gas or vapour, or emit ultra-violet light to disinfect entire rooms.
