Test Labs is GLP Certified, ISO17025 Accredited Medical Device Testing Laboratory. We specialise in medical device testing and validation, focusing particularly on instructions for use validation and material compatibility studies to ensure compliance with global regulations.

What are we looking for in this position?
As a Laboratory Scientist, you will be part of a team responsible for Medical Device and Disinfectant testing in a UKAS laboratory. Additionally, you will be involved in GLP and non-GLP studies as required to fulfil the requirements of the Medical Device Regulations.
What will you do?

- Help maintain daily aspects including stocking laboratory supplies, media preparation, management of waste and other housekeeping/routine operations within the laboratory.
- To conduct reprocessing validation studies of Medical Devices
- To conduct material compatibility of medical device with cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation processes.
- Independently conduct standard testing satisfy requirements within the ISO 17025 laboratory.
- Ensure the principles of Good Laboratory Practice Regulations are complied with for designated studies to be responsible for the laboratory equipment and ensure this is used to the highest standard.
- Create detailed and accurate test reports
- Support in the development of test methods and procedures
- Support in the implementation of test methods to identify product failures
- Ensure quality compliance standards are adhered to, ensuring auditable data is produced
- Implementation of project plans, standard operating procedures and risk assessments
- Communicate with the team to participate in determining objectives
What will you need to have and do?

- Experience working independently within a laboratory environment and excellent knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental standards and procedures.
- Experience within a GLP testing laboratory
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role/laboratory environment
- Experience working with Microbiology in an industrial setting, with medical device and/or disinfectant testing experience.
- To take a hands-on approach to work
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A drive for time bound completion of tasks
- Ability to work in, and adapt to, a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload
- The ability to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions
- Good IT skills
- Confidentiality in processing sensitive data
- Ability to work to the highest HSE standards and procedures
