Kevin began his scientific career in 1982, joining a large CRO at the age of 16. Over the years, he’s built a broad and hands-on laboratory background, consistently supporting operational excellence and delivering reliable scientific data across multiple disciplines.

Kevin’s early work in Experimental Biology introduced him to a range of complex assays, from the Ames test to a variety of cytotoxicity and cell-based screenings. He tested an extensive spectrum of materials — including contact lenses, nappy components, and tissues — to evaluate potential toxicity and ensure product safety for human use.

Between 2006 and 2010, Kevin lived in the Republic of Ireland, balancing parenthood with a variety of roles that strengthened my adaptability and problem-solving—from baby formula contaminant testing to council recycling operations and work within a family-run scaffolding business.

Returning to the UK in 2010, he resumed his laboratory career, conducting routine haematology, whole blood, and coagulation assays, while also supporting Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Ecotoxicology teams.

In 2014, Kevin joined Ecotox full-time and spent the next decade working on both laboratory studies and field trials assessing potential chemical impacts on the environment. He also managed laboratory maintenance, liaised with suppliers and contractors, and contributed to biodiversity initiatives, including pollinator surveys and wildflower planting projects.

In early 2025, Kevin joined Test Labs, where he continues to build on his experience as a laboratory analyst/scientist. Kevin’s work focuses on reprocessing and simulated-use studies across a wide range of medical devices, ensuring rigorous testing and reliable results.
