Medtech moves fast. Regulations evolve, materials change, clinical needs shift, and expectations around sustainability, safety, and evidence keep rising. Outlook exists to help industry professionals stay sharp, stay current, and think deeper. We publish educational, practical insight written by people doing the work: engineers, clinicians, regulatory professionals, scientists, founders, and operators, the people who are building, validating, using, and improving medical technology every day.
Outlook is a journal and daily publishing medtech platform with over 100,000 yearly active readers.
It’s where credible voices share hard-earned learning, real-world case studies, and perspectives that help the industry move forward. Outlook Annual is the print edition, a curated “best-of + forward look” designed to capture the most valuable ideas from the year and what matters next.
Outlook is free to read. We don’t charge authors to contribute.
An Invitation to Contribute
Outlook is written by people doing the job, shaping the industry, not commenting from the sidelines. If you’ve built something, improved something, validated something, regulated something, fixed something, learned something the hard way – we want to hear it.
We welcome contributions from medtech leaders, innovators, clinicians, regulatory professionals, scientists, engineers, and operators across the ecosystem.
You’ll find pieces across key themes including (but not limited to):
- Regulatory and quality thinking that helps teams make better decisions
- Technical deep dives (materials, compatibility, biocompatibility, IFU, validation)
- Clinical and operational perspectives from those closest to patient outcomes
- Lessons from innovation: what works, what fails, what teams wish they knew sooner
- Evidence-led commentary on where the industry is heading

We publish medtech insight that helps industry professionals build, validate, regulate, and improve healthcare technologies – including case studies, technical learning, regulatory thinking, clinical perspectives, and evidence-led commentary.
Who edits the content?
Every piece receives an editorial review for clarity, structure, and credibility. We may suggest changes to improve readability and strengthen the learning value, while keeping the author’s voice intact.
Do you fact-check articles?
We take accuracy seriously. Authors are responsible for ensuring technical correctness and providing references where appropriate. For higher-risk claims or sensitive topics, we may request supporting sources before publication.

Editorial Values and Standards
Outlook is built on one simple belief: the medtech industry moves faster when insight is shared responsibly. To protect trust, we follow clear editorial standards.
- Independence and integrity
Outlook exists to serve the reader. We do not publish content influenced by compensation, favours, or pressure from organisations featured in coverage. - Educational value comes first
Every piece must teach something useful. If the primary purpose is promotion, it’s not a fit for Outlook. - Accuracy and authority
We expect factual, evidence-led writing. Where claims matter, we encourage authors to include references, standards, or data sources. We avoid exaggeration, distortion, and sensationalism. - Transparency and disclosures
We require authors to disclose relevant conflicts of interest and relationships. If a potential conflict is manageable, it must be explicitly disclosed so readers can judge fairly. - Fair and respectful publishing
We welcome strong viewpoints, but we avoid personal attacks, bias-driven commentary, or content that undermines professional integrity. We aim to be rigorous and constructive.
- Inclusive, global voices
Medtech progress is international and interdisciplinary. We actively welcome perspectives across geographies, roles, and experiences, from engineers and scientists to clinicians, quality leaders, and founders. - Clear separation between editorial and commercial activity
If Outlook ever carries sponsored or partner content, it must be clearly labelled, and editorial decisions remain independent. - Corrections and accountability
If we make a mistake, we correct it. We update content transparently when corrections are warranted. - Responsible use of AI
AI may be used as a tool, not as a substitute for expertise. Any meaningful AI assistance must be disclosed, and the final accountability remains with the author and editor.
