Louise graduated from the University of Southampton in 2020 with a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Law LLB. During this time, she gained a prominent interest in patent law, which was further explored in her dissertation aimed at analysing the provisions of the European Patent Convention specifically in relation to embryonic stem cell patents.

Furthering her interest in the intersection of new technologies and the law, Louise then went on to complete a Master’s degree at the University of Edinburgh in Innovation, Technology and the Law in which she achieved a Distinction. During this time, she specialised in modules such as intellectual property, and the regulation of biotechnology and artificial intelligence.

Upon finishing her Master’s degree, Louise joined Test Labs where she now works as a paralegal. Louise helps Test Labs with general legal support such as contract reviews, as well as assisting specifically on intellectual property and regulatory compliance matters. In particular, she liaises with the Test Labs team and external patent attorneys to obtain patents for new inventions. Louise also conducts legal research on the regulatory landscape and assists in getting products registered in new markets outside of the UK.
